  5. About the Event: Mayor Bowser was scheduled to release her budget on April 1st. Her budget release has now been delayed for the third year in a row. If her budget has been released, we’ll learn about the proposed budget, and next steps to fight for a budget of care and sustainability as the Council spends the next few months making edits. If her budget is still delayed, we’ll spend our time talking about the implication s of this delay, and getting prepared to fight against the cuts we know are coming in her proposed budget. The Mayor has spent the last few months signaling that this will be yet another budget balanced on the backs of our most vulnerable DC communities. Please join us in community on April 14th from 6-8 pm at the Black Workers and Wellness Center in Anacostia to learn through this together.
