March 11 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm EDT

Join us to learn about the national movement to allow voting in prison, what we’ve learned in DC and what we need to do next!
Join us in person for a a discussion of:
- The national movement to allow voting in prison.
- The progess in DC since Restore the Vote was implemented in 2021.
- The need for more foundational civic education among incarcerated residents and what is needed to make it effective.
- And ideas for going forward.
Speakers will include Nicole Porter, senior director of advocacy for The Sentencing Project; Diana Owen, director and principal investigator for Georgetown University’s Civic Education Research Lab; and returned citizens Robert Barton and Gene Downing.
This is a great chance for us all to put our heads together and map a way forward to help or incarcerated residents restore their voice and reclaim their power! This event is also a fundraiser for the in-prison civic education program planned by More Than Our Crimes in collaboration with Georgetown University.
Note that to attend, the True Reformer management requires that you register two days in advance to attend.
