The court will decide whether the Guard stays in DC through the summer of 2026. That is the question before us now. How long can a federal order override the will of a city that has governed itself for generations. How long can an emergency be stretched before it becomes the norm.

We are past the point of waiting for permission to be free. Every extension deepens the wound, and every hearing is a reminder that our fight for home rule is not symbolic. It is about power. It is about who commands the streets we live on, who controls the resources we pay for, who decides when we are safe.

We have stood in the cold before and we will stand again.
Pack the court. Let them see that the people of DC do not accept indefinite control dressed up as protection.
