Nonviolent Large-Scale Civilian-Based Defense

Nonviolent Civilian-Based Defense is the practice of civilian resistance and non-cooperation usually in situations of a military invasion, military coup, or occupation. This training will help participants understand this practice, encounter concrete examples, and begin to imagine how and where this might be plausible. A prominent example is Prague Spring in Czeck. in 1968 when the Soviets invaded. More recently, others have written about the possibilities of this regarding Ukraine and the Russian invasion. In the U.S., there was recent planning for this in light of potential coups associated with elections.
Objectives:
1) An increased awareness of the orientation, strategies, and impact of civilian-based defense
2) Learning prominent examples of NV CBD
3) Imagining and designing potential development of NV CBD
