DC Medicaid Doula Enrollment Training Classes
March 21 @ 2:30 pm - 5:00 pm EDT
Virtual Event

Concentric Community Care is excited to host DC Medicaid Doula Enrollment Training Classes with Doula Learning and Action Collaborative throughout the month of March. This is a series of enriching engagement for the doula community in Women’s Month and World Doula Week, that will culminate just before Black Maternal Health Week!
Who is this training for? Certified Doulas seeking to support DC Medicaid families. Also, to all of our doula friends (sponsors/volunteers) we need assistance making these trainings possible so please identify your availability so we can have an accurate head count.
Why is this training necessary? After earning a doula certification, this is the first step to expanding the doula practice to support DC Medicaid families. These trainings are the first of their kind in the 4 years the DC Doula Medicaid Benefit has existed. We are intentionally building the doula workforce to reduce MMR in the District of Columbia.
What will be covered in the training? Certified Doulas will leave this training with:
–their Individual and or Group NPI
–completed Standard Application for DCPDMS which will allow Doulas to be recognized as DC Medicaid Doula Providers so they can bill Medicaid for doula services
–Bonus content: training on how to complete a CMS 1500 as a mini Medicaid billing overview.

How can you support? We are gearing up to prepare at least 40 certified doulas in March to be eligible to provide prenatal care, birth support, and post-delivery care to DC Medicaid families! We would love your support in the following ways:
- spreading the word to your networks
- providing helping hands we need volunteers to support printing and scanning needs
- meals for the in-person sessions (approximately 25 people total at each session)
- 100 total blood pressure cuffs for doulas to share with the families they support. We know high blood pressure is a leading preventable cause of maternal mortality. 1 for each doula to keep, 1 for each doula to give away, “extras” for DC Doula Advisory Council Doula members already enrolled that won’t be required to take the training
- Professional childcare services for in-person training sessions
